The creation of a games-first layer-1 Web3 solution has been in process for over a year at Gala Games. This blockchain is designed to harness all the Web3 power we need while eliminating the parts we don't. We're proud to say that Spider Tanks is the first game we have launched on Project GYRI, and even prouder to say this is only the beginning.

Project GYRI is the blockchain where Spider Tanks gameplay is hosted.

All items currently in your Gala Games Treasure Chest (not yet ETH “minted”) are your items on Project GYRI. Items you have purchased in either the Gala Games store or on the secondary market are held in your account's Ethereum wallet.

Project GYRI = Already playable in Spider Tanks
Ethereum wallet = Ethereum blockchain = Must first bridge to Project GYRI

In order to use these items in-game, the items must be held in your Project GYRI wallet. This sometimes requires bridging. In order to remove them from the game and list them on secondary markets, items must be held in your Ethereum wallet. This means they must be bridged over.

Note: We have not yet unlocked the ability to bridge any tokens (ERC-1155 or ERC 20) to Project GYRI from Ethereum.

ERC-1155

ERC-1155 items may only be bridged one at a time initially, requiring repeated network fees (gas).
ERC-1155 batch transfers (single network fee) will be implemented later this week.

ERC-20

ERC-20 tokens (SILK) cannot be bridged from Ethereum to Project GYRI with this launch (timeline TBA). Ethereum-based SILK can still be used to purchase Spider Tanks items on Project GYRI.

ERC-1155

ERC-1155 items cannot yet be bridged from Project GYRI to Ethereum. Implementation of this feature will come later this week after the completion of new security contract audits.
FUN FACT: Once these items are bridgeable to Ethereum, they will be minted for the first time as true NFTs (non-fungible tokens), uniquely distinctive from one another. This will be the first time this transition has been made for Gala Games!

ERC-20

Bridging of SILK from Project GYRI to Ethereum is also coming soon, expected within just the first few days after launch. Ethereum-based SILK can still be used to purchase Spider Tanks items on Project GYRI.
This brings us to the last bit of news, guaranteed to excite anyone who has been participating in recent Spider Tanks playtests! We are pleased to announce that Test Silk will be converted entirely to SILK at a ratio of 1:1.

If you are on mobile, you will not be able to download and play the game. The download button is only visible if you're on a PC or Mac.

Please try the following in order:
1. Clear browser cache (reopen browser to check for Play button)
2. Try disabling UBlock Origin (a popular adblock chrome extension) for the website.
3. If not play button -> Uninstall gala-launcher-win and spidertanks.exe using the uninstall utility in windows
4. Reboot
5. Download launcher from gala website and install spider tanks

*If you're using an antivirus like Mcafee you should exclude the following files from real-time scanning: gala-launcher-win.exe, gala-run.exe, spidertanks.exe

You do not need to own any tanks in order to come play Spider Tanks. There is a set of free rotational tanks that anyone can play. These tanks cannot be upgraded, traded or sold.

Rarities for tank bodies or weapons come in Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Ancient. The difference between a non-upgraded common and non-upgraded legendary will be substantial. The difference between a common upgraded to the same level as a legendary and a legendary will be small, but still present.

Yes, you can play a tank that is composed of different rarity parts. For example a Rare Body with a Common Weapon or vice versa. The average level of the tank body + weapon will be used to form matches with others of the same average level.

We're working on implementing several anti-cheat systems. The last closed beta already actually had some people getting banned because of speed hacking and such. A “Report a Player” function is considered for the future.

Yes, you can chat with your team or all players before, during, and after a match. Use the following keys to start a chat.
T = All players
Y = Team only
TAB = After selecting T or Y for chat you can switch modes by hitting tab
RETURN = Post message
Customize which keys are used from SETTINGS > INPUT

A tank part = a body or a weapon
An upgrade component = resources needed to upgrade your tank parts

The upgrade process will require Components and a Blueprint.

Each time a part is upgraded, a rating will be given. Any particular upgrade can fall anywhere on a spectrum between “decent” to “perfect”.

The quality of an upgrade when upgrading a tank part is determined by luck and (for now) isn't influenced by anything else. Upgrade quality will get ratings like 'Decent', 'Great' or 'Perfect' every time you upgrade. The average upgrade will be 'Good' and 'Perfect' upgrades will have a very low chance of happening.

There will be at least a personal stats page for each player, yes. Winrate, wins, losses, damage done, kills, assists, healing done, damage blocked, distance walked.. stuff like that.
